The Uncharted Mind: The Man Who Wore His Shoes Wrong

Once there was a man. He did everything right. He ate right. He walked right. He talked right. He wore the right clothes. But he wore his shoes wrong. He wore the right shoe on his left foot, and the left shoe on his right foot. People feared he would fall, but he never did. They asked, "Why do you wear your shoes that way?" He never answered. He only smiled. Years passed, and he was no more. People forgot how kindly he spoke. They forgot how honestly he lived. They forgot how helpful he was. But they always remembered that he wore his shoes wrong. —— Reflection: What "wrong shoes" are you wearing that make others uncomfortable simply because they challenge convention? —— Author’s Note — The Origin of the Poem: Originally drafted in 2018, this poem was last edited in a Google Keep note on January 2, 2019. It sat there for seven years, waiting for its ending. Now, it is finally complete. —- The Man Who Wore His Shoes Wrong Collection: The Uncharted Mind Author: Shon ...

Rising Against Odds: A New Year Poem by Shon Mehta

New year, new steps but no denial, Survival was more than chance, it was a trial. Past was not kind, yet it marks the climb, The distance traveled, and passage of time. Scars on the body, endured through fear, Through struggle and fight, we conquered the year. Here’s to the battle we bravely chose, Against all odds, we stood and we rose. —- Shon Mehta , The Uncharted Mind Context: Originally written to capture the spirit of persistence, this poem has become a cornerstone for moments of significant transition — marking both the cultural journey of International Women’s Day and the personal renewal of the New Year.

Even If the Hair Never Grows Back (Poem)

“Because I’m bald, right?” She nodded hesitantly, trying not to hurt him, Silence did the rest. Bald = unloved. Simple math. He fought it. Creams. Pills. Surgery. A year of becoming someone else. The hair came back. Self worth didn't. He knocked again. “I'm not bald anymore.” She looked at him, he’d missed the point. “It wasn’t the hair,” she said, gently. She took a step closer. Just the truth standing between them. "I almost loved you," her voice barely a whisper, "But you did not." He didn’t know what cut deeper — Her words, or how she handed them to him, Or the truth that had always been there,  Quiet in the corner, waiting to be seen. It wasn’t the baldness. It was the fear that he wasn’t enough. And that’s what she saw, Not a man without hair, but a man without peace. For peace isn’t found in the fixing.  It is found in accepting Your flaws, your fears,  And in the belief that you are enough. Even if the hair never grows back. —  Shon Mehta “Even If th...

Acceptance A poem by Shon Mehta (Poster)

Acceptance A poem by Shon Mehta For some, it is a beloved they are eager to meet. For some, it is an enemy they are anxious to face. For some, it is a stranger they are trying to ignore. In truth, it is a destiny that nobody can escape. So, for me, when death comes  there will only be acceptance.

Broken by Shon Mehta (Poem)

Broken  I fell in love with you and gave my heart as a token,  Even though I knew that you were broken. You drove away friends, estranged from everyone.  I stayed, because being with you was fun.   People warned me, but I ignored their view;  I was sure that my love would make you new. It took a while, and now the time has spoken, You remain the same, but now I am broken. —- Shon Mehta

The Uncharted Mind: Kakistocracy (Poem)

"That is how you know it is not a democracy, and is instead a supine kakistocracy." —  Shon Mehta . A hauntingly relevant look at power, ignorance, and the gods of the digital age. When hoards of people without a job, become a bigoted lynching mob. When talking wisely makes you a ghoul, while being ignorant is so cool. When influencers and entertainers are the new gods, and a handful of money buys cheerleading squads. When every leader sounds the same, as gaining power becomes their only aim. When you see the above things, it will tell you which tune the time sings. That is how you know it is not a democracy, and is instead a supine kakistocracy . ——— Shon Mehta   is an author and philosopher known for creating the  Jivavarta Universe , a fictional setting used to explore sociopolitical themes, human resilience, and moral philosophy. Her work has transitioned from contemporary fiction to foundational academic material used in several countries.  Rough Hewn  is h...

The Uncharted Mind: It Never Goes Away

It Never Goes Away You are little, just a baby, and butterflies flutter in your stomach. You do not understand. "What is happening?" you ask, but your inexperienced mind can't explain. You can't ask others -- you don't know, not yet, how to put it in words. You grow up, and now you have learned many words for it. But you have also learned not to talk about it. Living your life has become daunting ... exhausting. Your family worries, so you pretend to be alright. You gather courage and talk to those who will listen. Sometimes they don't judge, they try to empathise. They try hard, but they fail. You feel more frustrated, more lonely. It never goes away, You are high and happy, then you think of it, and slowly your happiness fades. You are low and sad, and you feel relieved. You know it is going to happen, you can't help but feel this way. It gets suppressed, but it is there. You are afraid, cautious, for you know it is going to resurface, When you are least...

The Uncharted Mind: Fool's Gold

"Fool's Gold"  - a poem by Shon Mehta Days are slow, but years are racing fast. No matter how hard I try, my life is not going to last. My social circle is becoming thinner. Even after so many wins, why don't I feel like a winner? When I look at myself in the mirror, I see an elderly staring at me with horror. So much remains untold, but my brain is losing its hold. Now that I have become so old, being alive is what I behold. ( “ The Uncharted Mind ” is a collection of Shon Mehta's inner thoughts. It also includes philosophical quotes from her novels "The Timingila", "Lair of the Monster", and Jivavarta Stories  Shon Mehta  is an author and philosopher, creator of the  Jivavarta Universe , a grounded sociopolitical world exploring human resilience, social dynamics, and moral philosophy through systems thinking. The Uncharted Mind: Vengeance

" Vengeance " - a poem by Shon Mehta You tried to eradicate me using your might, But I am going to live on ... out of spite. Will wait in the shadows ever so slight, And ... when the time is right, Ruin your whole life, like a pestering blight.

Poem: Life - This and That

Life is feeling lonely in a sea of people, but life is also joy of solitude. Life is petty rivalries and mean relationships, but life is also beautiful friendships and a loving family. Life is driving for hours in daily traffic, but life is also a voyage to unfamiliar lands. Life is unending office hours, but life is also lounging for hours in bed. Life is jostling through a crowded street, but life is also running barefoot on a white sandy beach. Life is wall of disappointments, but life is also countless opportunities. Life is living the same day whole your life, but life is also living a new life everyday. Your life is your own unique journey -- it is unlike a journey any other person, before you or after you, will ever take. The Uncharted Mind by Shon Mehta is a collection of philosophical poetry, quotes, inner thoughts, and introspective reflections on the human mind, self-worth, resilience, morality, ...
