Lore Of Jivavarta: Sonira

Sonira: Jewel of the Adrika Kingdom

Sonira is the capital city of the Adrika Kingdom and one of the newest cities in the land of Jivavarta. It was built on the banks of the Hirika River, beside a lake that was once feared by all.

The Monster in the Lake

According to legend, a shadowy sea creature named Makantaboga lived in the lake. It attacked and killed by suffocating anyone who came near. Even though the land was fertile and the lake was filled with fish, people avoided the area for generations.

The Chitrantak Stone

Long ago, four kingdoms—Rongcha, Adrika, Yashantika, and Trishala—lived in peace. But a massive famine struck, killing thousands. The kings sought help from a wise man, who told them about a magical stone called Chitrantak. The stone could protect a kingdom from natural disasters and make it unbeatable in war.

The four kings worked together to mine the Srodhgiri Mountains and eventually found the stone. They agreed to share it, rotating it between their kingdoms each year.

Adrika Breaks the Pact

When it was Adrika’s turn to hold the stone, its king refused to give it up. The other kingdoms attacked, but Adrika won every battle thanks to Chitrantak’s power.

Founding of Sonira

With his kingdom now invincible, the Adrika king decided to build a new capital. He chose the cursed lake.

When he arrived, Makantaboga attacked him, but the king used Chitrantak to defeat the monster.

He then built the city of Sonira, placing the royal palace at the center of the lake.

Sonira Today

Since then, Adrika has not experienced any famine, flood, or earthquake. Sonira developed rapidly and became the most prosperous city in Jivavarta. Even during the Lasati invasion, it was spared from direct attacks due to its distance from the main battlefield.

Its palace in the lake stands as a symbol of Adrika’s power and the defeat of Makantaboga. The stone is still hidden somewhere in Sonira to this day.
